ABOUT RETURN TO YOU (Letters to Nowhere Volume 3)

How many dreams can you chase at once?

Even with bad boy, TJ, disrupting their morning workouts, Karen and Stevie’s daily battles with each other are sure to bring both of them closer to a national title at next month’s championships. It’s the kind of feud that creates winning results.
Until a fall from the uneven bars shakes Karen’s rock-solid confidence. Not only does she balk every time she so much as attempts a routine, she’s also facing all this without much support from Jordan. After receiving some bad news, Jordan’s reluctance to listen to reason causes Karen so much frustration she begins to avoid him, needing space to deal with her own issues. He needs someone to force him to make the right choice, he needs his dad to intervene and Karen knows this, but is torn between her loyalty to Jordan and her concern for her coach’s son. Even though both paths lead to the same person—Jordan—it feels like she’s choosing between two different people.
And then there’s the growing tension between TJ and Stevie. They’re obviously on the verge of either ripping each other’s heads off or ripping each other’s clothes off. It’s hard for either Jordan or Karen to tell where those two are headed. Tension is building from every possible outlet and there’s bound to be an explosion of some kind in the very near future.

Return to You Letters to Nowhere Part 3 eBook Julie Cross

4-1/2 stars. Return to You is like a return to the Karen and Jordan we got to know in Letters to Nowhere. This installment reminds us what we love about the series -- Jordan and Karen, Karen and gymnastics, and Jordan and his shaky relationship with his dad. As things begin to heat up between Jordan and Karen, things implode with Karen and the uneven bars after a particularly cutting remark by TJ. When Jordan doesn't step up to help Karen, TJ takes it upon himself to get her back on track. There's a lot more conflict in this than in volume 2, which ups the stakes from all angles. I can't wait to see what happens in Return to Us.

Plot
The main plot through this volume seems to be Karen's gymnastics performance and the struggles she faces. But her relationship with Jordan is a serious subplot if not a parallel plot. Now that they're together again, they take their relationship to the next level, which intensifies things. At least until Jordan get some bad news and doesn't react well to it, driving a wedge between them. There is also something going on with TJ that I'm not still clear about. The boy harbors deep, dark secrets and I have a feeling there's a lot there.

World Building
While gymnastics is still the focal point of the world building, the summer camp is vividly woven in, with campers, cabins, and camp activities that makes the story come alive in an exciting new way.

Characters
Watching Karen struggle with gymnastics again after recent successes feels so authentic. It doesn't matter which sport you participate in, no matter how well you did in the past, there's always a concern about the next event, the next performance, the next race, so the fact she's doubting herself again is not at all surprising and rather refreshing. Watching Jordan deal with his issues and pushing Karen away is totally within his character and it gives us a chance to watch both of them continue to grow and develop as characters. We also get a little bit more insight into TJ and Stevie which is fun. Those two are intriguing.

Top Five Things I Love About Return to Sender
1. Karen's Loyalty - To both her boyfriend and her coach. Her sense of loyalty is one of the things I've always loved about her.

2. Jordan's Fear - Without going into details, Jordan's fear, although somewhat irrational, is just another dimension that makes him come across as so real.

3. The Jaren Conflict - I'm not big on conflict for conflict's sake, but the tension between these two is a key plot point and really well done.

4. The Little Campers - They provide a few moments of some much needed comic relief.

5. The TJ/Stevie Dynamic - I can't wait to see where this is going.

Bottom Line
Return to You picks up the pace from where Return to Sender left off, raising the stakes and increasing the tension. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Great series, Julie Cross is an amazing writer, I look forward to reading more of her books in the future
Very fast read that leaves you wanting more. Can't wait to read the next installment.Julie Cross knows her stuff. I also enjoyed her other series Tempest. Looking forward to reading more books from her in the future.
This isn't even a short story - not much middle and no ending. Why not combine a few of these?
I can't wait for the next installment of this series!!
I really like this story, but just as the story starts to happen, it's over. I wouldn't call this a full book, it should be labeled as a novella or short story. The first book was full length so I don't understand what has happened to the last two. They could have been put together into one book.
The relationship between Karen & Jordan has moved to a new level. As their relationship grows emotionally so does their sexual attraction which is normal but makes this book for older teens.
Karen remains committed to gymnastics but continues to deal with the grief involved in the loss of her parents. Jordan deals with his relationship (lack of relationship) with his father and a new illness.
Positive - quick read, didn't want to stop reading
- emotions of characters are really evolving
- don't have to wait long for next part (hopefully)
- author is growing with each book
- looking forward to part 4

Negative - short. Wanted to read more
